First off, I’d like to start off by saying what a year 2012 was. It certainly had its ups and downs, but I definitely felt like I got a lot accomplished. From hip hop to guitar work, I had my fill of musical adventures across the spectrum. I would like to say thank you to everyone who listened to any of my work, from singles to mixtapes. I appreciate you taking the time to go through my music and enjoy listening to it. My favorite record was “Dear Mom,” as it contains the most meaningful lyrics/music I’ve ever composed. As most of you you already know, I won’t be continuing to compose hip hop music in the near future. I may go back to it, but for now, my calling has shifted to another realm: dance music.
Ever since I can remember, I’ve been a huge fan of electronic dance music, both instrumental and vocal. My biggest influence by far is Brian Transeau aka BT. His compositions are unparallel and stunning. The way he creates music through layers of textures from sounds and blips to vocals and instruments is amazing. I urge to check out his discography and have a listen for yourself (notably “Dynamic Symmetry” off his 2006 album ‘This Binary Universe’). It is BT’s way of composing music that has influenced me to one day create electronic music that captivates the heart of the world.
With that in mind, my goal in 2013 is to create an electronic album with instrumentals, vocal tracks and good dancefloor music that listeners of all types can enjoy. I will feature other artists and an arsenal of musical instruments, all played by myself. Yes, guitar will always be prominent in all that I do. So for all of you fans of my guitar playing, don’t fret!
Another realm I will be tackling this year will be DJing. I started to DJ back in my freshmen year of college, but put it down in order to focus on guitar/school. Now that I’ve picked it back and begun practicing, I will soon be taking gigs for local restaurants/venues. If you need someone to DJ your event in the Northern Virginia area, please contact me. I do own a nice musical library of hard rock, some pop, classical, blues, jazz, hip hop and electronic dance music (if you need Top 40 or Latin, you’ll need to provide me some). DJing is an art form that allows me to have fun and connect with the audience. I look forward to diving into this some more. Stay tuned for my first mix, which I will post up in January.
Having said all of that, I will be continuing to stay busy throughout the days, from doing music to working the jobs that I have. I will be posting things here and there, so be on the lookout for previews coming soon. Make sure to check out all of my music on my SoundCloud and YouTube channels. Once again, thank you all for taking the time to read up on my excursions. I look forward to sharing my music with you!
